As photographers and business owners one of the hardest things to do is trying to find a workflow that actually works for you! There are always a million things that need to be done. Client communications, blogging, marketing, culling, editing, updating website…it’s all so overwhelming! I’ve been in business since 2013 and have used a lot of different systems. So, today, I wanted to share with you the top 5 programs I use to run the backend of my business!
- Honeybook. It is a game-changing business management software built specifically for creative entrepreneurs. This is a new one to me this year. I wasn’t looking for a new business management system because I liked what I using, but after hearing so much about it on every photography group I’m in, I decided to look into it. You can have all of your client communications, payments, questionnaires, contracts, and so much more in one place.
- Shootproof. Shootproof is the program that I use to deliver my client’s images in beautiful, user-friendly online galleries! I can upload my galleries and have it delivered in less than 10 minutes! My clients are able to download and share their images from their gallery. Seriously, it’s the best and I recommend it to EVERYONE!
- BlogStomp. Oh goodness friends, this one was a game changer for me! This is what I use to size all of my images for facebook, my website, etc! I used to spend hours in photoshop resizing my images and making templates for facebook and my website. You can size as many images as you want with the click of one button. If you haven’t tried it yet, it’s a must!
- Lightroom. When I first started started up my business, I used strictly photoshop for a long time. I gradually started using lightroom more and more, and, today, I use it for about 90% of my editing! I can do almost anything. Upload, cull, edit them to my liking, and export them into JPEG’s. I have the Adobe CC and pay $9.99/month for both photoshop and lightroom.
- Photoshop. This is the program I use for composites, cloning, and blemishes. There is a lot to photoshop, and it can be scary to some, but it’s not. A lot of photographers only use LR, so don’t feel like you have to use PS at all!
